New Delhi: New Delhi: At least 11 jawans are reported to have been martyred in a deadly naxal attack in Chattisgarh’s Dantewada district.

The naxals carried out an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack on the vehicle carrying District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel near Aranpur in Dantewada.

Among those martyred, 10 jawans & driver of the vehicle perished in the deadly explosion.
The IED was planted by naxals.

Speaking on the fresh incident of red terror in the state, Chattishgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that it was a deeply saddening incident.

“My condolences to the bereaved families. This fight is in its last stage. Naxals will pay price for this,” CM told newsmen.

According to initial reports, the jawans of District Reserve Guard (DRG) had gone to Dantewada’s Aranpur region after getting tip-off about gathering of Naxalites.

While the DRG forces were returning after combing operation, they became target of naxal attack. Naxalites planted IED on their return route, resulting in loud explosion & death of 10 jawans & 1 driver.
