Rupani govt announces Rs 5,000/month incentive for interns & resident doctors engaged in Corona duty

Those eligible include interns in undergraduate courses, resident doctors in postgraduate and Superspecialty courses of Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda.

New Delhi: In a significant move, the Gujarat Government’s Health Department has decided to pay interns and resident doctors on coronavirus duty Rs. 5,000 per month Covid Incentive Allowance, in addition to their stipend, till June 30, 2021, for their noble service to the corona patients during the prevailing pandemic situation.

Those eligible include interns in undergraduate courses, resident doctors in postgraduate and Superspecialty courses of Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda. The decision has been taken looking to these students busy in the treatment and service of patients.

The Gujarat Government’s Health Department had increased the stipend of interns and resident doctors of the state’s Government and GMERS Medical Colleges to Rs. 13,000. This special monthly allowance is over and above the stipend.
