Sachin Pilot attacks CM Gehlot, says ‘his leader is Vasundhara not Sonia Gandhi’

Pilot’s forceful comments come on back of Gehlot’s startling charge during the weekend that it was Vasundhara Raje who helped save his government when his government was reduced to minority, following revolt by party MLAs in 2020.

New Delhi: Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Tuesday launched an all-out attack on Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and said his leader seems to be BJP’s Vasundhara Raje & not Sonia Gandhi.

“Hearing CM’s speech, one gets to understand that his leader is Vasundhara Raje & not Sonia Gandhi,” Pilot said in the presser.

Pilot’s fresh diatribe against CM Ashok Gehlot renews focus on the sharp differences between the two fractured camps of Rajasthan Congress unit.

Pilot’s forceful comments come on back of Gehlot’s startling charge during the weekend that it was Vasundhara Raje who helped save his government when his government was reduced to minority, following revolt by party MLAs in 2020.

The 2020 rebellion was led by Sachin Pilot along with some legislators. They all cornered & pressured Gehlot govt to either act against rampant corruption in govt machinery or be prepared for exit from power.

Pilot also accused Gehlot government of insulting his own party MLAs, thus harming own party’s prospects in polls.

He demanded that Chief Ministers comes clean on his contradictory statements that Vasundhara Raje &  some BJP MLAs helped save his govt and then also another charge that BJP was engaging in horse-trading of MLAs to topple Gehlot’s government.

At a rally in Dholpur, Rajasthan Chief Minister had said “Vasundhara Raje and her 2 MLAs helped save his government.”

While taking potshots at the Chief Minister, Sachin Pilot also asserted that he had tolerated enough personal attacks & name-calling from Ashok Gehlot himself.

“For two & a half years, I have been receiving abuses, I was called a traitor. But, I never said anything as I never wanted to damage party,” said Pilot.

Pilot also revealed that a roadmap for change of guard was prepared in Rajasthan unit under Ahmed Patel’s supervision but that couldn’t take off.

Pilot, disgruntled by Gehlot’s series of barbs on him & inaction by party high command, also announced a “Jan Sangharsh Yatra” starting from Ajmer. He however, said that the yatra was not against anyone but against corruption.

Pilot’s yatra against his own Congress dispensation is set to leave his party red-faced & leaders embarrassed about a feud within, playing out in the open.
