
Health Ministry directs CGHS empanelled hospitals to provide COVID-19 treatment to beneficiaries
New Delhi: In wake of sudden surge in Covid-19 cases in the national capital, AAP government has decided to attack several hotels in the city with nearby hospitals.
These hotels will serve as extended Covid hospital and will help augment the Covid-19 bed capacity in the city.
Kejriwal government has bracing up for the colossal medical challenge as Coronavirus menace looms large. The government has been augmenting the medical facilities in the city as fresh Coronavirus cases witness strong spike for over a week now.

These hotels have been clubbed with 23 hospitals.
The bed capacity will be augmented in two phases – 2,112 hotel beds will be added in the first phase and 282 in the second phase.

115 private hospitals to reserve 50% beds for Covid-19 patients
Two days ago, Delhi govt had declared 14 large private hospitals in Delhi as “full COVID hospitals”. It also directed another 101 private hospitals to reserve at least 50% of the beds, in ICU and wards, dedicated to Covid-19 patients.
According to order issued by Delhi Directorate of Health Services, the city government said 115 private hospitals having bed strength of 50 or more, or already identified and registered for COVID-related treatment, are directed to reserve at least 50 per cent of their total ICU and wards bed capacity or 1.25 times the Covid ICU and wards beds as on April 8.
