
New Delhi: Owing to stone-pelting in Rajasthan’s Karauli, several people got injured on Sunday. The untoward incident in Karauli took place during a Hindu New Year procession on Bikes. During the incident, an angry mob also set ablaze makeshift stalls and bags outside a hospital area, according to reports.
It is also reported that miscreants also hurled stones at the people involved in the procession.
The initial reports also suggest the police imposed Section 144 in the area to stop any communal clashes.

Following the incident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Twitter appealed to everyone to maintain peace. He added requesting people to maintain law and order situation.
He also said that he talked to the DG and police to take stock of the situation.

The Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh Indolia reached the spot after receiving inputs. The market in the area has also been closed. Furthermore, the district administration has deployed heavy police personnel in proximity to the area.
