Former SP ally Shivpal Singh Yadav denies rumours of joining Congress

Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Yadav debunked the rumours about him joining the Congress party.

New Delhi: Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Yadav debunked the rumours about him joining the Congress party on Friday. He said that this is the ‘fake news’ being spread.

Notably, Shivapal broke his ties with the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party in July. With Shivapal Yadav, the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief OM Prakash Rajbhar also parted his way from the SP.

The announcement was first made by the Samajwadi Party. The party said they were free to break the alliance with the party. Upon leaving the SP, Mr. Rajbhar accused SP president Akhilesh Yadav of betraying the backward communities.

On the other hand, Mr. Shivapal tanked the SP for releading an official letter to formally set him free. He said that we cannot comprise with principles and honour.

Notably, the SBSP had fought the 2022 Assembly election with the SP and won six seats in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
