New Delhi: In a gruesome murder, a 20-year-old woman was murdered with a screwdriver inside her home in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district. The woman was stabbed at least 51 times by prime suspect Shahbaz Khan who came all the way from Gujarat to Chhattisgarh to kill her for not taking his phone calls.

The barbaric incident happened on December 24. Post-mortem report revealed that the woman named Neelkusum had 51 injury marks on different parts of her body by some sharp weapon. Police have launched manhunt for prime accused Shahbaz Khan who murdered the woman inside her home and then ran away from the spot.

According to police, the incident took place when NeelKusum was alone in the house. The accused covered her mouth with a pillow to muzzle her screams and then stabbed her with a screwdriver, more than 50 times. The victim & her family lived in the Pump House colony of South Eastern Coalfields Limited in Korba.

When the victim’s brother returned home in afternoon, he found his sister’s body in pool of blood.

VHP sees love jihad, tears into Baghel govt

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has hit out at Bhupesh Baghel government for brutal murder of the tribal girl inside her home.

Terming it as a case of Love Jihad, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal also lashed out at the secular brigade & liberal lobby for not speaking on the matter.

In an unsparing attack on Chhattisgarh govt, the group demanded strict punishment for the ‘jihadi element’.

Why Shahbaz killed Neel Kusum?

Preliminary reports suggest that accused Shahbaz befriended the victim 3 years ago when he worked as a conductor in passenger bus and the girl used to travel by it. Accused later shifted to Ahmedabad in Gujarat for work and both of them stayed in touch via phone.

According to Dainik Jagran report, Shahbaz took a flight from Gujarat to Chattisgarh and reached girl’s house as the latter was ignoring his phone calls. Report also says that the accused used to talk to victim over WhatsApp calls.
Reports also suggest that Neel Kusum wasn’t taking Shahbaz’s call for sometime but he used to call her repeatedly.
Meanwhile, the police have lodged a case and 4 teams have been constituted to nab the absconding accused.
