New Delhi: Doctors in a Hyderabad Hospital said that they have removed over 156 kidney stones through a keyhole opening from a 50-year-old patient.
The doctors performed laparoscopy and endoscopy instead of major surgery. According to the record, this is the first case in which huge number of stones have been removed.
The surgery lasted for over three hours.
According to the doctors, the patient had come from Hubli and was admitted to the Preeti Urology & Kidney Hospital. After the surgery, the patient is now doing fine and is doing well.
The patient has been identified as Basavaraj Madiwalar, and he is a school teacher by profession. Only after developing sudden pain near his abdomen, he had gone many test which included screening which showed the presence of kidney stones.
The doctors also said that this is a case of ectopic kidney as the stones were located near to his abdomen instead of its normal position in the urinary tract.
