New Delhi: In a sensational twist to Kanpur encounter, a letter has surfaced alluding ‘nexus’ between the UP underworld don Vikas Dubey and Chaubeypur SHO Vinay Tiwari .

The letter, highlighting the link between gangster Vikas Dubey and the SHO, was written by CO Devendra Mishra, who was among those 8 policemen martyred in the Kanpur shootout.

CO had written this letter to the Kanpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), four months ago. Through this letter, the CO sought to inform the SSP that gangster Vikas Dubey had ‘links in the UP police’ and SHO’s conduct with regard to him was highly suspect.

Kanpur CO letter to SSP

In the letter to SSP, the CO wrote, “A case was registered against Vikas Dubey on March 13. But, some charges were withdrawn later. After inquiring, it was found that these were withdrawn at the behest of SHO Vinay Tiwari. “

Further in the letter, the CO also warned that such arm-twisting of law by the dreaded gangster poses grave risk and if corrective action not taken, it may result in serious mishaps.

SHO under lens, was he the mole in UP police?

Yesterday only, it came to light that power department was instructed to cut lights at Vikas Dubey’s residence on the night of police raid, which apparently resulted in massive damages to the police team.

Kanpur SSP Dinesh Kumar reportedly told newsmen yesterday that it was SHO Vinay Tewari who had directed the lineman to cut power supply in the village at the time of the encounter. Chaubeypur SHO Tewari is being considered as the mole who informed Dubey about the raid beforehand.

UP police has launched a manhunt to nab the criminal but after so many hours of the shootout, he still remains on the run. Eight policemen were killed when they went to the gangster’s house on Sunday night, to arrest him.
