Gangster Sanjeev Jeeva killed inside Lucknow court premises, shooter dressed in lawyer attire

The miscreant reportedly rained 6 rounds of bullets, TV reports said. Dressed in lawyer attire, they breached security, entered court and started indiscriminate firing outside the Lucknow civil court.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, gangster Sanjeev Jeeva was killed in firing inside the complex of a Lucknow court.

Sanjeev Jeeva was attacked while he was brought to court for hearing in a criminal case.

The miscreant reportedly sprayed 6 rounds of bullets on the gangster, TV reports said.

Preliminary reports suggest that the shooter came dressed as lawyer and started indiscriminate firing outside the Lucknow civil court.

Some people including a woman & a child are reported to be injured in firing. Sudden gunshots resulted in stampede-like situation, with those present in court running for cover.

A lot of policemen assembled outside the courtroom, where miscreants opened firing. The area has been cordoned off.

Gangster Sanjeev Jeeva was said to be a close aide of dreaded gangster turned politician Mukhtar Ansari. He was an accused in the murder case of BJP leader Brahmadatta Dwivedi.

Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva, a native of Muzaffarnagar, was a known criminal. Initially, he worked as a compounder at a local medicine shop and then went to abduct the owner of that shop. This marked his entry in the mafia world and from here, his name was associated with many kidnappings in the state. He switched gangs, first he joined Najim gang of Haridwar, then went to join Satyendra Barnala gang.
