New Delhi: The minority wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a unique initiative ‘Shukriya Modi Bhaijan’ in Lucknow on Monday. The event saw gathering of a lot of Muslim women and also beneficiaries from the minority community.
At the public gathering, slogans like ‘Shukriya Modi bhaijaan and ‘Na doori hai na khai hai, Modi humara bhai hai‘ were raised.
The one-of-its kind initiative is part of BJP’s ambitious reach-out program to the minority community. The party plans to organize such rallies & public gatherings in many districts of the state, where the Muslim women in particular will be impressed about various welfare schemes of Modi government.
A leading daily reports that top BJP leaders including Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya will lead the campaign to woo Muslim women voters.
The saffron party plans to cover all 75 districts and reach out to Muslim women voters for spreading information about various Central govt’s welfare schemes.
It may be noted that the BJP has been consistently seeking to woo the Muslim women electorate for sometime now.
Modi government abolished the discriminatory Triple Talaq system in its second term while UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in September 2019, met around 300 Muslim women divorced by their husbands.
