New Delhi: A 12-year-old boy was attacked by a stray dog in a village in the Kozhikode district of Kerala on September 11. A video of the attack went viral on the internet and shows the dog pouncing on the young boy as he rides his bicycle in a street. Lately, a few incidents of attack by dogs have been emerging on the internet.
In the video, the dog can be seen running out of an adjacent lane and pouncing on the boy to grab his left wrist as he falls. Other kids present there managed to escape, but the 12-year-old boy was stuck with the dog. The boy can be seen struggling on the ground as the dog bites down on his wrist.

Eventually, he manages to rush into a house and free himself from the grab. The dog then ran away and three men entered the house to check on the boy who was attacked.
There has been a serious increase in stray dog attacks in Kerala, leading the Pinarayi Vijayan government to approach the Supreme Court for permission to kill rabid and violent dogs. The state government has also announced a month-long drive to tackle this problem. The drive will take place from September 20 to October 20.
There has also been an increase in such incidents in the National Capital Region. A few days back, a video of a pet dog attacking a boy inside a housing society in Ghaziabad, surfaced on the internet. This led the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to issue a warning to dog owners.
