“Such twisted acts…”: Narottam Mishra on ad featuring Aamir Khan-Kiara Advani

Netizens are criticizing the actors as well as the makers, urging them to make similar ads on practices of other religions

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra reacted to controversial ad featuring Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani on Wednesday. The advertisement is currently facing ire from a section of social media users for hurting religious sentiments.

Reacting to the advertisement, Mishra said, “I received complaints & saw the ad. I request Aamir Khan to appear in ads keeping in mind Indian traditions. Such twisted acts hurt religious sentiments. He doesn’t have permission to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments”.

The ad shows Khan and Advani as newlyweds returning from their wedding venue while discussing how they did not cry during the ‘bidaai’.

Later, the couple can be seen reaching the bride’s house while the groom takes the first steps into the house, as opposed to the common traditional practices.
