Surrender in 48 hours else…: UP cops come with bulldozer at rape accused in UP’s Saharanpur

The two accused name Asif and Amir are accused of gangraping a minor girl on pretext of marriage and the fleeing from the village.

New Delhi: In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s promise of action on gangsters in the state, UP policemen are carrying an stringent drive against them and taking deterrent measures to send across a strong message.

In Saharanpur, the police action drew attention of all as they reached the house of gangrape accused with a bulldozer. The two accused name Asif and Amir are accused of gangraping a minor girl on pretext of marriage and the fleeing from the village. The complainant, victim’s father, was also being harassed and tortured by rapists’ father and the latter also been booked by police for threatening & assaulting the complainant.

But, what set tongues wagging in the vicinity was presence of bulldozer outside the home of influential rape accused brothers. The police also warned their family to get the molestors arrested in 48 hours else their house will be demolished. The family is said to have close links with village Pradhan’s family.

A video of the bulldozer in action also landed on social media, where bulldozer can be seen dismantling the staircase of the building.

“We also announced that if the accused do not surrender in 48 hours, further legal action will be taken,” the SHO of local police station said.

The rape accused brothers however denied the charges and claimed innocence.

Return of bulldozers in Yogi’s 2nd term

Yogi’s first tenure was marked by largescale crack down by police including the use of bulldozers to raze the houses of those accused of serious crimes.

In his campaign rally, CM Yogi had promised the return of bulldozers to instil fear in criminal’s mind & heart. And, now after taking over the office, the bulldozers are in action mode.

In just two weeks, there have been two instances when bulldozers have been brought to criminals’ house for teaching them a lesson. Both cases were linked to rape.
