Swiggy delivery boy kills restaurant owner in Greater Noida over delay in order: Reports

A case has been registered against the accused and police team has launched manhunt to track him down.

New Delhi: A delivery agent of food delivery platform Swiggy alleged shot dead a restaurant owner in Greater Noida, over delay in an order. The delivery boy apparently got into fracas with a staff of the restaurant and shot the owner in head before absconding from the site.

A case has been registered against the accused and police team has launched manhunt to track him down.

According to reports, the deceased owner has been identified as Sunil Agarwal who owned a restaurant inside a residential complex called Mitra.

What led to restaurant owner’s murder

According to a leading portal, the delivery boy had gone to the restaurant to collect the order but was told by a staff that it was not ready. Restaurant staff told him that one of the items was still being prepared and it will take some time.

This apparently first resulted in heated argument and then a fight between the two. When restaurant owner Sunil Agarwal tried to intervene, he was allegedly shot dead in the head by the delivery agent. After firing, the accused fled the spot.

Police are scanning the CCTV footage for identifying the accused and also to find out the ‘sequence of events’ that led to restaurant owner’s death.
Sunil was rushed to the hospital by his staff but was declared brought dead.
