Telangana Exit poll results 2023: KCR govt seen on shaky ground, strong surge for Congress

For the unversed, the Exit Polls are conducted after voters have exercised their franchise in an election. The electorate are asked questions by pollsters on about their choices in elections and based on their inputs, the Exit polls data is prepared.

New Delhi: Exit polls for Telangana Assembly elections comes as a setback for the ruling Chandrashekhar Rao government as his party Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) is seen trailing behind Congress by a clear margin.

A couple of exit polls forecast resounding surge of Congress and emerging as single largest party in the assembly elections.

According to India TV-CNX exit polls, Congress is seen fetching 63-79 seats while BRS is seen settling at just 31-47 seats in 119-member assembly.

Jan Ki Baat also indicates Congress’ triumph as. According to it, Congress is expected to win 48 to 64 seats, while BRS is expected to settle with 40 to 55 seats.

Republic TV-Matrize exit polls shows Congress gaining hold of 58-68 seats while BRS being projected to get 46-56 seats.

TV9 Bharatvarsh-Polstrat is apparently one of the exit polls that show Congress & BRS getting into a close fight.

On the other hand, in Mizoram, the two big parties of India seem to be on the sidelines as MNF and ZPM are the frontrunners for forming the government. According to CNX, MNF is in the lead with 14 to 18 seats, while ZPM is fighting a close fight with 12 to 14 seats for them.

Congress is expected to win 8 to 10, while BJP is expected to win 0-2 seats.

Besides the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Rajasthan, two other states that went to Assembly polls in 2023 include Telangana and Mizoram.

Telangana, with 119 Assembly constituency, is witnessing a three-cornered contest between Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samiti, Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Voting for Telangana Assembly elections took place today i.e. on November 30.

For the 40-member Mizoram Assembly, the polling took place in first phase on November 7. Mizo National Front (MNF) led by Zoramthanga and an ally of NDA was the dominant party in last elections while Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) came second with 8.

Today’s exit polls will forecast the numbers of ‘winners & losers’ and will thus give an idea of the ‘happy or sad’ moment for the respective parties.
