
Churachandpur (Manipur): The convoy of a Commanding Officer of an Assam Rifles unit was attacked by the terrorists in the Singhat sub-division of Manipur’s Churachandpur district, informed sources on Saturday.
As per the sources, the family members of the officer along with the Quick Reaction Team were in convoy. “Convoy of a Commanding Officer of an Assam Rifles unit ambushed by terrorists in Singhat sub-division of Manipur’s Churachandpur district. In addition to deaths of 4 personnel of Assam Rifles, an officer, his wife, and 8 years old child, four other soldiers sustained injuries in the attack in Churachandpur, Manipur: Indian Army

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the attack. He wrote, “The cowardly attack on an Assam Rifles convoy in Churachandpur, Manipur is extremely painful & condemnable. The nation has lost 5 brave soldiers including CO 46 AR and two family members. My condolences to the bereaved families. The perpetrators will be brought to justice soon.”

“Strongly condemn the cowardly attack on a convoy of 46 AR which has reportedly killed few personnel incl the CO & his family at Churachandpu today. State forces& Paramilitary already on their job to track down the militants. The perpetrators will be brought to justice”, Manipur CM N Biren Singh wrote in his tweet.
