Tourists throng Manali amid pandemic, netizens give them a dressing drown; memes follow

Twitteratis are taking a dig at the tourists thronging the streets of Manali despite Covid-19 outbreak, by sharing funny comments and memes.

New Delhi: A large number of tourists are visiting Manali, Shimla, Kufri, and other hills stations in Himanchal Pradesh to avoid heatwaves in the plains as the daily coronavirus cases dip in the country. This comes despite serious warning regarding the possible 3rd wave of covid 19.

The government has also relaxed covid-19 restrictions in various parts of the country as the number of covid cases is declining. The Himachal Pradesh government had announced the easing up of the covid related restrictions last month in the state, following which the tourists have started visiting the higher altitudes, especially Kullu, Manali, Shimla, and Dharamshala. This has definitely brought a smile to the faces of hoteliers and business owners who are totally dependent on tourism for their livelihood but has also raised concerns around the expected third wave of the covid-19.

As soon as the photos of high occupancy in the hotel rooms and heavily crowded streets in Manali went viral on social media especially Twitter, many users slammed the domestic tourists thronging the hill station during pandemic. A series of jokes and memes followed on Twitter.

These memes have gone viral on social media and Manali booked a spot on the trends list with Hashtags “third wave” and “Manali” started trending on Twitter.
