New Delhi: In a major embarrassment for Tripura unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, a party MLA was reportedly seen watching porn in the Assembly.
MLA Jadav Lal Nath, who represents Bagbassa constituency of Tripura was watching explicit & pornographic video on his phone, while the Assembly session was underway, reported a leading daily.
A video of the BJP MLA allegedly watching porn on his mobile phone surfaced on social media and went viral in no time. The video is eliciting many responses & critical remarks from netizens.
The incident reportedly took place on March 27, when the Tripura Assembly was debating issues related to state Budget.
The video was reportedly shot by someone from behind and it shows the legislator scrolling through some video feeds on his phone. The video reportedly shows him watching pornographic content while sitting in Assembly.
Not the first instance
This is not the first instance when a BJP MLA has been caught on camera consuming porn during an Assembly session. A 2012 incident in Karnataka Assembly also left the party red-faced as 2 ministers of the then BJP government in state were caught on camera watching adult content in Assembly. The Ministers had to subsequently tender their resignation. However, they were reinstated after a probe cleared them of charges and didn’t find any wrongdoing on their part.
Meanwhile, the Tripura BJP unit is expected to send a notice to him and seek explanation.
