Tripura CM distributes books of Swami Vivekananda to Covid-19 patients for ‘mental toughness’

“To keep the Covid 19 patients motivated and mentally strong, we have decided to distribute books written on Swami Vivekananda to every Covid patient so that they can read these books and get inspired by his thoughts,” CM Biplab Deb tweeted.

New Delhi: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has launched new and unique initiative that will go a long way in mental recovery of Corona infected patients. In order to keep Covid-19 patients motivated and mentally strong, the Tripura government has started handing over books on Swami Vivekananda to them.

The idea was conceived by none other than Biplab Deb himself, following which the Department of Cultural Affairs launched the initiative.

Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb handed over the first set to books to the medical superintendent of Tripura Medical College and also to the in-charge of Hapania Covid Care centre in Agartala.

“To keep the Covid 19 patients motivated and mentally strong, we have decided to distribute books written on Swami Vivekananda to every Covid patient so that they can read these books and get inspired by his thoughts,” CM Biplab Deb tweeted.

“It is very important to stay calm and energetic when we are fighting against COVID-19. Today handed over few books to MS of TMC & in-charge of Hapania Covid care centre,” the Chief Minister further tweeted.

Books penned by other writers on the ideology of the monk were also handed over to hospital authorities here. The books include Swamijir Upadesh, My India: The India Eternal’, ‘Swami ji o tar bani, Vivekananda of Yuba Samaj’ among others, said a news report.

The state has recorded a total of 9,213 Covid-19 cases so far and 6,574 patients have recovered. Till now, 83 patients have succumbed to the disease and two others have died by suicide.
