The active and alert Tripura police on Tuesday averted molestation of a minor girl at the hands of CPI (M) leader. The cops caught Shamim Ahmed red-handed and have put him behind bars.

Shamim Ahmed is a leader of Students’ Federation of India (SFI), the student wing of CPI(M). The SFI leader beguiled an 8-year-old minor girl in Udaipur, Maharani area, took her to a park where he tried to molest her.
Alarmed at Shamim’s indecent advances, the girl shouted and locals gathered at the spot. They saved the girl from his ’captivity’ while hours later, police nabbed him.
बच्ची के शोर मचाने पर स्थानीय पहुंचे और उन्होंने बच्ची को बचाया। तब से सीपीएम के ये स्थानीय नेता शमीम अहमद फरार चल रहे थे। मगर मुख्यमंत्री श्री @BjpBiplab के नेतृत्व में मुस्तैदी से काम कर रही @Tripura_Police ने फरार शमीम अहमद को कल धर दबोचा। अब वे सलाखों के पीछे है।

Shamim Ahmed has been booked under various sections of IPC including 354, 506 and Section 8 of POSCO act. He was produced before the court following which he has been sent to judicial custody till April 6.
26-year-old Shamim Ahmed had joined SFI sometime ago.
