Twitter gives radical organization PFI a verified 'blue tick'
New Delhi: The radical Islamic organisation Popular Front of India (PFI)’s Karnataka unit has been given the verified ‘blue tick’ by Twitter.
This comes on back of Twitter taking away the verified blue tick of several nationalist organisations like RSS & also the personal handle of Vice President.
Popular Front of India has been accused of involving in perpetrating terrorist attacks in India and carrying large-scale communal riots in different parts of the country.
The Sufi Islamic Board has criticized this move of Twitter. The Sufi Islamic Board has asked Twitter to withdraw its decision. In fact, the Sufi Islamic Board says that evidence has been found against the PFI for its involvement in anti-national activities. In such a situation, giving a blue tick to PFI can be a big mistake of Twitter.
PFI has a long controversial history. The role of the PFI was found suspicious during an investigation into the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi and violence across the country in the wake of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Also, several PFI members were arrested for their involvement in the riots.
Moreover, in November last year, the radical Islamic organization Popular Front of India extended its support to the anti-government protests by farmers accused of inciting riots and violence in various parts of the country. He asked the protesters to fight for the protection of the Constitution.
Recently, Income Tax Department banned funding from abroad in the bank accounts of the organization. The exemption given to the organization in the rules of income tax has also been abolished.
