New Delhi: Ahead of the historic consecration ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on January 22, the face of Ram Lalla idol has been unveiled for the first time.

The 51 inch idol of Ram Lalla, sculpted by artist Arun Yogiraj, was installed in the sanctum sanctorum of grand Ram Temple on Thursday afternoon amidst chanting of prayers & ram bhajans.

Today morning, when the first pictures of idol, from inside the ‘garbhagriha’ emerged, it became an internet sensation and took every streaming platform by storm. In the first pictures, the idol carved in black stone looked resplendent & magnificent however, face of Lord Ram was covered.

Reports said that the face of Ram Lalla would be unveiled on the day of Pran Pratistha, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi performs the rituals on January 22, however, fresh pictures of uncovered face surfaced on social media today.

As the face of Ram Lalla’s idol got unveiled, it created an unprecedented buzz on social media, with many ‘rambhakts’ heaping praise on the statue. The idol is also seen boasting of a golden bow and arrow.

The new Ram Lalla idol, installed inside the sanctum sanctorum is 51 inch tall statue and presents the child-like form of Lord Ram.

Today is the fourth day of Pran Pratistha. It will get over on January 21 and the next day, Prime Minister will conduct the puja for consecration ceremony.

Consecration or ‘Pran Pratistha’ is a ceremony for instilling the idol with divine consciousness. It is a customary ritual performed for every idol worshipping in any big temple.

The consecration ceremony will see the presence of celebrity personalities from different fields, all trustees of Ram Mandir Temple Trust, saints from about 150 sects and more than 500 individuals involved in the construction of Ram Temple.
