Union Ministers, BJP leaders berate Mamata for delaying meet with PM Modi & then leaving in a huff

Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Rajnath Singh, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP President JP Nadda, BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari and many others slammed Mamata Banerjee for her deplorable behaviour.

New Delhi: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has found herself in the crosshairs of BJP ministers and party leaders for keeping Prime Minister Narendra Modi waiting for the Cyclone review meet in West Midnapore today.

PM Modi and Governor Jagdeep Dhankar waited for Mamata Banerjee for 30 minutes, as the meeting was scheduled in advance, to discuss and review the impact of Cyclone Yaas. But, the Bengal CM reached the venue late and didn’t even properly attend the meet. Reports said, she put down the papers and left the meeting ‘mid-way’ after 10-15 minutes, claiming that she had some other appointments.

This prompted many BJP Union ministers and leaders to slam Didi for her ‘insulting’ behavior towards Prime Minister.

Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Rajnath Singh, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP President JP Nadda, BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari and many others have slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said she has put her arrogance above public welfare.

Union Defence Rajnath Singh said, “Today’s developments in West Bengal are shocking, PM & CM are not just individuals but institutions. Such behaviour towards the PM, who had gone to visit the State is painful. This is an example of placing political differences over constitutional duty.”

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan termed her attitude “deplorable’.

BJP President JP Nadda accused her of “murder of constitutional ethos and the culture of cooperative federalism.”

“When PM Narendra Modi stands strong with the citizens of West Bengal in wake of Cyclone Yaas, Mamata ji should also set aside her ego for the welfare of people. Her absence from the PM’s meeting is murder of constitutional ethos & the culture of cooperative federalism,” Nadda tweeted.

Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari termed it a “dark day in India’s long-standing ethos of cooperative federalism”.

“CM @MamataOfficial has shown once again that she is insensitive to the sufferings of the people of West Bengal,” he said.
