UP Polls 2022: BJP likely to retain UP, projected to win 245-267 seats, says Opinion poll

According to this poll survey, BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is all set to win a clear majority of votes in the 403-seat assembly.

New Delhi: The recent turn of events including the switching over of OBC leaders to Samajwadi Party (SP), then Malayam’s daughter-in-law joining BJP has made the Uttar Pradesh poll contest all the more interesting & nail-biting.

In one of the largest & latest Opinion Poll, Yogi Adityanath-led BJP is projected to return to power for the second term. The Opinion poll, conducted by Zee News & Design Boxed, claims to have taken opinion of over 12 lakh people from people of 5 states.

According to this poll survey, BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is all set to win a clear majority of votes in the 403-seat assembly.

Western Uttar Pradesh

Unlike in 2017, the BJP is likely to witness a tough battle in this region and a neck and neck fight is expected between BJP & SP. BJJP is seen winning 33-37 seats while SP may gather about 33-37 seats while the BSP will corner 2-4 seats in its kitty. Congress may not open its account in the Jat-dominated region.

Central UP

The poll survey predicts a major gain for BJP in this region, projecting 47-49 seats for the saffron alliance while SP-led alliance may have to settle with 16-20 seats. Congress will a small player with 1-2 seats while BSP may end with 0 mark.

Bundelkhand & Awadh

BJP is seen further consolidating its position in Bundelkhand & Awadh, gaining major share of seats from this region. In Bundelkhand, BJP may bag 19-21 seats while SP will end with just 3-7 seats. In Awadh region, BJP is gaining major share of 76-82 seats while SP candidates could emerge victorious in 34-38 seats. Congress & BSP continue to have dim prospects in both the regions.

Purvanchal

BJP is likely to garner 53-59 seats in this region while SP is also giving the party a good fight with about 39-45 seats. BSP & Congress will have to settle with 2-3 seats each.

Parties vote share

As per the poll survey, BJP will emerge as the single largest party garnering more than 40% vote share while its challenger SP is falling behind with a big margin. Mayawati-led BSP and Priyanka-led Congress fail to leave mark & could get 10% & 6% respectively.
BJP is seen getting 41% vote share while SP may win 34% vote of the electorate.


Who is preferred CM Choice

According to Zee News opinion poll, Yogi Adityanath continues to remain the top choice for Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. More than 47% respondents want to see Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister while about 35% want SP chief Akhilesh Yadav as the CM.

9% voted in favour of Mayawati and 5% wanted to see Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the next UP CM.
