Vegetable vendor’s viral ‘Jugaad’ for accepting online payments will surprise you (Watch)

This was not the first time the UPI payment system has made a vendor go viral on social media as in 2022’s December, a tea vendor from Bangalore went viral for accepting payments using cryptocurrency.

New Delhi: The introduction to the revolutionary technology of the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) has caused a considerable boom in the country’s digital payment ecosystem over the last few years.

Since its launch in April 2016, the technology has not only changed our shopping habits but also made our everyday transactions quick, hassle-free, and secure.

Today in 2023, a number of major UPI apps including Paytum Phonepay, and Google Pay are prevalent in the market to assist both big businesses and small vendors in accepting payment online. This has obliviated one’s need to carry cash every time while going out shopping.

Recently, the internet witnessed a lady taking the digital payment system to a whole different level with her unique ‘Jugad’ of adding an online payment facility for her customers. her unique way of accepting payments online is now going viral amongst netizens.

In the viral video shared by the popular Instagram page Maharashtra. farmer, we see a man approaching the lady to buy some peanuts from her. After purchasing his desired peanuts, the man ask the lady to show him the QR code so he can make the payment online. what the woman did next surprised everybody and made her famous on the internet.

On being asked by the man for the QR code, the old woman picked up the weighing bowl, turned it upside down, and presented him the QR code which was hidden beneath it.

Netizens react

The video of the woman’s creative and unique placement of the Paytm QR code sticker is now making rounds on the internet and has received over 12 million views in just a matter of a few hours. While some are praising and appreciating the smart lady for her creativity and mindfulness, others are just having a good laugh at her decision to place the QR code sticker at such an unexpected place.

Commenting about the same, one Instagram user wrote, “Now she’s on the official Twitter handle of Digital India.” Another said, “Thank god she didn’t put the QR code behind her slippers.”

A third user wrote, “Bharat and Modiji’s digital revolution.”
