
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing invasion by Russia in Ukraine, the Indian students who have been living in Ukraine are seeking help from the Indian government through videos. A video of one of such students has surfaced on social media. The student, Praveen Ajjaraddi, said he is facing a shortage of food and water.
It is estimated that more than 10,000 students are stuck here of the total 20,000 students who were studying in the country.

However, the government of India has assured that it working to evacuate its citizens from the country. The steps are here given below that the Indian government is taking to evaluate its citizens.
1. Indian government has sent its team from Hungry and Poland to Ukraine’s borders to help the citizens. However, the Ukrainian airspace has been closed due to a tussle with Russia.
2. Indian Foreign Secretary, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, said, ”The safe routes to reach our citizens have been identified. By road, if you go from Kyiv, you would reach Poland in nine hours and Romania in nearly 12 hours.”
3. A dedicated 24*7 control room has been set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) to provide information and assistance in Ukraine.

4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also raised their concerns about the safety of Indian citizens in Ukraine while speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia.

5. The Indian embassy situated in Poland, Ukraine, and Hungry issued advisories to citizens in Ukraine. The advisory tells about how to find a bomb shelter. They have been asked to return back to the cities they live in if they were heading to the capital Kyiv.

Indian Embassy in Hungary has also issued a form for those students wanting to cross the border through Kpp Tysa.
