WATCH: Rakesh Tikait utters derogatory remarks for woman journalist, calls her ‘Bhootni’

The insulting remark by Tikait for a woman journalist is drawing massive blacklash against the farmer leader on social media

New Delhi: Rakesh Tikait, who was recently in Bulandshahr for a Kisan Panchayat (farmers meet), is embroiled in controversy yet again. Tikait this time addressed a female journalist as Bhootni.

After his disrespectful spat, journalists present on-site took a strong objection to Tikait’s words. The woman journalist herself has lodged an objection to Tikait’s insulting remark.

Here’s what happened

On Saturday afternoon, Tikait had reached Anupshahar in Bulandshahr to participate in a Kisan Panchayat, wherein the local media were also present for the farmer leader to address them.

While the journos were asking various questions to Rakesh Tikait, a female journalist asked him if he had gone to offer flowers to Aurangzeb’s tomb recently.

While denying the claims, Tikait said that Aurangzeb died in a good place. Where Aurangzeb gave up his life, there is also a Jain temple as well as a Shiva temple.

The woman further asked, “You know about Aurangzeb’s death. But you do not know about hundreds of temples that he had destroyed and how many mosques were built on them”.

To this, Tikait turned the talks around saying that political parties are a disease for the country. The woman journalist further asked, “How can you call political parties diseases”.

Annoyed by the repeatitive questions, Tikait said, “Sun to le Bhootni”.

The woman journalist gave a beffiting comeback to Tikait saying, “I am a woman and you cannot call me disrespect me like that in a crowded meeting”.

Some other people present at the meet also protest against Tikait’s remarks, to which Tikait said, “You don’t listen to me, you keep asking questions only”. During the incident, anger was clearly visible on Rakesh Tikait’s face.
