WATCH: TTE mercilessly slaps train passenger without ticket, act caught on camera; Railway minister reacts

New Delhi: A Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) found himself in soup after he slapped & thrashed a passenger travelling on train without ticket. The TTE was suspended by the Railway Ministry soon after a video of the incident landed on social media.

The TTE while examining tickets of passengers on Barauni-Lucknow Express came across a train passenger travelling without ticket. He not just confronted the traveler but also held him by collar and rained blows on him mercilessly for the offence.

A fellow travelling on the upper seat in the same coach recorded the incident on camera. While he questioned the TTE for abusive action, the officer also attempted to snatch his mobile phone.

As the video landed on social media, it left netizens baffled & shocked over brazen abuse of power by the government official.

In the video, the TTE could be seen repeatedly hitting the passenger while the latter pleads before the ticket examiner and asking, ‘koi galti hai mera.’

Many asked, who gave the TTE a mandate to hit any passenger while others posted angry remarks over his excesses.

After the video went viral, the Ministry of Railways took prompt action and suspended the official. An enquiry has also been initiated in the matter.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also reacted to incident and condemned the misbehavior & misconduct by TTE.


“Zero tolerance for such misconduct, TTE has been suspended”, he tweeted.

A lot of netizens praised the Railway minister for taking quick action in the case.
