What is Zomato Pure Veg Mode and fleet? All you should know about Zomato’s latest step to serve India’s vegetarian population

Goyal also made it clear that the company’s latest Pure veg fleet service has nothing to do with anyone’s religious and political preferences.

New Delhi: One of India’s most popular food delivery companies Zomato, On Tuesday, initiated a Pure Veg Mode’ and ‘Pure Veg Fleet’ to cater to the needs of the country’s 100 percent (Pure veg) population.

Announcing the revolutionary decision, Dipender Goyal, who is the CEO as well as the founder of the company, took to his Twitter (Now X),  stating that India has the largest number of pure veg food consumers in the entire world and the company has introduced this latest scheme based on such customers feedback & reviews.

He penned, “India has the largest percentage of vegetarians in the world, and one of the most important feedback we’ve gotten from them is that they are very particular about how their food is cooked, and how their food is handled “To solve for their dietary preferences, we are today, launching a “Pure Veg Mode” along with a “Pure Veg Fleet” on Zomato.”

As explained by the company’s CEO, Zomato’s ‘Pure Veg Mode’ is a step towards providing 100 percent vegetarian food to consumers with strict veg preferences. Under this mode,  only the food which is prepared in pure veg restaurants & food outlets will be served to the interested customers. This will ensure that even the veg food cooked inside a non-veg-selling establishment is not served to customers who consume a strict veg diet.

Zomato’s Pure Veg Fleet will use green delivery boxes instead of the standard red ones. The CEO clarified that these delivery persons will exclusively deliver orders from pure vegetarian restaurants and won’t handle any non-vegetarian meal

Additionally, the delivery agent of this newly introduced pure veg fleet will not be seen in the company’s conventional red uniform but will wear green clothes and carry green boxes. They will also refrain from entering any non-veg-selling restaurant or receiving any non-veg food order during their duty hours.

Nothing to do with religious preferences

Meanwhile, Goyal also made it clear that the company’s latest Pure veg fleet service has nothing to do with anyone’s religious and political preferences. He further revealed how the company is planning to soon bring numerous more fleets specifically made to meet the varying demands of the customers.

Detailing on the same, the  CEO wrote, “In the future, we plan to add more specialized fleets for special customer needs. For example, there’s a special cake delivery fleet coming up with hydraulic balancers that prevent your cake from getting smudged during delivery.”
