New Delhi: Hours after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is arrested, the question of who now run the government looms large in the Aam Admi Party. Minutes after the Chief Minister was taken into custody by the Delhi Police, the Aam Admi Party Spokesperson Atishi said that the Chief Minister will keep continue as the CM of Delhi from jail, he will perform his duties from the jail, there are no 2 ways about it. She also said that “We made it clear from the beginning that he will work from jail if need be. There is no law that stops him from doing so. He has not been convicted,”

 

Meanwhile a team of doctors have reached ED office for the medical examination of the Delhi Chief Minister.

The arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister at a time when Lok Sabha Polls are around the corner, will have a strong impact on the image of the AAP. Hitting at BJP after the arrest, AAP leader Arvinder Singh Lovely said that, “Timing of the elections shows the BJP is afraid of our alliance. Democracy is in danger. This happens in Pakistan, not in India.”

The Aam Admi Party is mulling over all the legal actions that can be taken to get the Chief Minister out of jail. According to legal sources, Arvind Kejriwal can decide to step down from the Chief Minister Post on moral grounds, but he is not obligated to step down as a Chief Minister. He will have to appear before a PMLA court where the ED officials wills seek his custody for interrogation.
