New Delhi: Hours after two unidentified men carrying smoke canisters jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber on wednesday, it has come to light that the two intruders were scheming for long for such an orchestrated drama inside the House.

Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, apparently in early 20s, were the two men who jumped from the Parliament’s visitors gallery and then started hopping from one bench to another, creating panic and chaos in the House.

According to reports, the visitors of one of these accused was issued from the office of BJP MP Pratap Simha. A photo of Sagar Sharma’s visitor pass also landed on the social media. Other intruder Manoranjan is a Mysuru native and is engineer by profession.

Who is Pratap Simha?

Following the controversy, Pratap Simha has come in the crosshairs of opposition parties as they are gunning for him over association with Lok Sabha intruder.

Simha is a popular BJP MP from Mysore constituency with more than 50% vote share. In 2014, he won the Mysuru seat with 43.46% of votes in 2014 and that got increased to vote share to 52.27% in the 2019 elections.

The 42-year-old journalist turned politician is well-known for his columns. He also wrote a biography of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2007.

The guests with visitors pass go through multiple security checks, first at the entrance counter and then multi-layer stringent security checks. They are manually as well as electronically checked by the Parliament staff also.
