New Delhi: Lucknow Commissioner Roshan Jacob’s video has gone viral on social media where she can be seen inspecting the waterlogging issues after heavy rain lashes city.
This is not the first time when Roshan Jacob has stepped herself to take the stock of the situation on the ground.
After nine people including women and two children was killed after wall collapsed in Lucknow due to heavy rainfall, Officer Roshan Jacob was seen taking stock of the situation in Jankipuram (near Engineer college) and several other areas.
Roshan Jacob is know for taking a lead and effect change in trying circumstances, she is one of the finest example of officers who puts her duty first.

Who is IAS Roshan Jacob?
Roshan Jacob is 45 years old, she hails from Kerala. She was born in Trivandrum.
Roshan Jacob, is a 2004 batch IAS officer, who took charge as the in-charge District Magistrate of Lucknow on April, 17 when the serving DM tested positive for COVID-19.
Her parents, mother Aleyamma Varghese and her father TK Jacob were government employees in Kerala.
Jacob, is her parents single child. She attended the Sarvodaya Vidyalaya school in Trivandrum before joining Government College for Women for a bachelor’s and later Department of English at Kerala University for a masters in English.
She has done her PhD as a UGC – Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Jacob completed PhD while in service.
Jacob is a mother of two and -a son and a daughter. She is married to her batch mate, Dr Arindam Bhattacharya, an Indian Foreign Service officer, posted with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in Delhi.
She is also the diplomat who is credited with being the first Indian to write a book in Mandarin Chinese.
Jacob’s work in Uttar Pradesh?
Jacob was first posting in UP was as a probationary IAS officer in Jhansi.
She is also the first woman director of Uttar Pradesh’s Mining Department.
Apart from working in different departments, Jacob also went on to become District Magistrate (DM) of Basti, Gonda, Kanpur Nagar, Rae Bareli and Bulandshahar.
