New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday shared an Odia devotional bhajan of Lord Ram titled, sung by noted singer Namita Agrawal and also lauded her endeavour.
The music for Odia rendition of Ram bhajan titled “Ayodhya Nagari Nache Ramanku Pai” has been composed by Saroj Rath.
Taking to his personal X handle, PM Modi said that the devotees of Lord Ram knows no boundary and one can find devotional songs on him in every language.
PM wrote in X post, “There is devotion towards Prabhu Shri Ram in every part of India. In every language also you’ll find several Bhajans devoted to him. Here is one such effort in Odia.
Who is Namita Agrawal?
Odia singer Namita Agrawal is ecstatic & elated over getting such recognition. Acknowledgement of her song by the Prime Minister, just a day after latter shared the devotional song of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, puts her in an acclaimed league of elite singers.
Namita Agrawal may be getting the spotlight now but she has carved a name for herself in Odia music. She is a well-known Odia singer and also boasts of a good fan following on her YouTube channel.
She started her singing career in 1990 and over the years has enthralled the audience with her melodious voice. She has crooned a number of devotional songs & bhajans in Odia language and they are also played in temples.
How she got recognition as singer?
After debuting in 1990, the singer has never looked back. Her repertoire of songs include ‘Laxmi Puraan’ & ‘Shri Jagannnath Sahashranaam’. She is the only Odia singer to have crooned all 367 chapters of ‘Sampoorn Odia Bhagwat’.
She keeps putting her new songs & bhajans on her YouTube channel, which has a strong subscriber base of 2.86 million. In her decades long career, she has sung over 100 devotional songs & bhajans.
