Pictures of a woman constable from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, tending to an infant outside an examination center have taken social media by storm.

New Delhi: Constable Daya Ben from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, captured hearts as she lovingly cared for and played with the baby. At the same time, the child’s mother was busy appearing for the Gujarat High Court’s Peon Recruitment examination in Odhav. 

The incident unfolded on Sunday when a mother arrived with her inconsolable six-month-old son at the examination center. Witnessing the distress, Constable Daya Ben stepped in and offered to care for the child, allowing the mother to focus on her exam. The heartwarming photos, shared by the official Twitter handle of Ahmedabad Police, show the baby happily smiling in the constable’s arms. The compassionate gesture did not go unnoticed, as the pictures of the constable’s act of kindness quickly went viral.

Recognizing Daya Ben’s compassionate nature and her extraordinary act, Gujarat’s Director General of Police, Vikas Sahay, honored her with a letter of appreciation. The Gujarat DGP took to Twitter to express his admiration, stating, “Daya Ben has become a symbol of the sensitive side of Gujarat Police. Happy to hand over a letter of appreciation to her.”

Twitter users also praised Constable Daya Ben, commending her selfless act.
