Women’s Day celebration in Gujarat: CM Rupani lists women development programs of state govt

Gujarat CM highlighted that honouring women in our culture is not enough to celebrate one day, in Hindu tradition women’s are worshiped as goddess. He said that in “Nari Shakti”, there is an inherent power, strength and insight.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in his address at a function organised by the Women and Child Welfare Department of the State Government on the occasion of International Women’s Day stated that our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a five trillion- dollar economy will only come true with the participation of women’s in every field.

Gujarat will actively contribute to the building of a new India by giving women the same opportunity by bringing out the inherent strength, insight and strength of them.

As part of this celebration, CM initiated a transparent system of payment of honorarium to Anganwadi workers and Tedagar helpers directly to their bank accounts through DBT. He termed this online system of direct deposit of money in bank account as faceless system and one more step towards transparent system.

“Our government is serving the people with a commitment to ensure that no one falls victim to corruption by making decisions with a clear and honest policy,” said CM.

Mr. Rupani detailed on the Vahli Dikri Yojana and said that beneficiaries of this scheme get Rs. 4 thousand After the birth of the daughter, during their 1st enrolment in school and at the age of 18, a total of Rs. 1 lakh is given by the government for higher education and marriage.

The State Government has entered into MoU for this purpose by assigning the responsibility of Fund Manager to LIC. A cheque of Rs 22 crore was handed over to LIC as per the MoU signed by the State Government’s Women and Child Development Department with LIC as the implementing and managing agency of the Valli Dikari Yojana.

The CM also launched a Gender Dashboard and a Digital Book of Planning Information of the Department in the presence of Minister for Women and Child Welfare Mr. Ganpat Singh Vasava and Minister of State Smt. Vibhavariben Dave.

On this occasion, the dignitaries handed over cheques of Mahila Swavalamban Yojana as well as handed over cheque to the beneficiaries of Vahli Dikari Yojana.

The CM said that in the present times, the strength of women and its power is used for the holistic development of the society, the government under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra has given due respect to women by giving 50 percent reservation in Panchayats-Local Self Government Institutions and 33 percent reservation in government jobs.

Mr. Rupani also said that the state government has taken several initiatives for women empowerment so that the daughter of the state does not remain malnourished and get proper opportunities. He also elaborated on the increase in assistance by Rs. 1250 to widowed women’s by giving them an honourable name like Gangaswarupa.

Abhayam 181 helpline for safety of women’s, strict actions against the accused in an allegedly case, hearing cases through fast track courts and cracking down the chain snatchers our government has taken many steps.

In this year’s budget, various schemes for women empowerment under the gender budget and 100 percent women oriented schemes, the overall gender budget has been increased by Rs.8692.63 this year.

He urged the women to take advantage of these schemes and participate in the development journey of the state.
