Work from Home for Gurugram’s private offices; traffic cops amusing tweet amid woes

The roads & streets of Gurugram suffered major traffic chaos today morning as heavy rains with thunderstorms created waterlogging & deluge across the city. As some vehicles broke out in water, it only worsened the situation.

New Delhi: Amid forecast of more rains & thunderstorms, the Gurugram administration on Monday advised corporate offices and private firms to direct their employees to consider work from home option. This has come as a welcome surprise for thousands of office-goers while will also ease traffic congestion on roads.

The weather department has forecasted similar weather for another 2 days i.e. till May 24. The district administration hopes that if vehicular traffic is mitigated, this will help the civic staff take up de-clogging & repair works more efficiently.

Following this, Gurugram traffic police also requested people to consider working from home. It also took to Twitter and shared an amusing post.

“We do not have that option, but those who do, may consider exercising the option to work from home,” Gurugram police said.

Following the rains, about 2500 police personnel were deployed at various cross-sections of the city to manage traffic, a news agency reported.

Delhi also witnessed heavy rains and thunderstorms today morning and resulted in major traffic snarl while operations at IGI airport also got impacted.

The national capital along with adjoining NCR region faced major power cut and traffic snarl after being lashed by windstorm & torrential rains. Several trees got uprooted while huts and kaccha houses suffered damages.
