Lucknow: In an effort to strengthen healthcare infrastructure to provide better healthcare access to the public, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has allocated a budget of Rs 8.58 crore for the renovation of 13 community health centers across 12 districts in the state. This amount has been released after financial approval from the government.
Specifically, the government is actively engaged in the installation of state-of-the-art medical equipment and the enhancement of infrastructure within government hospitals, primary health centers, community health centers, as well as treatment and research institutions. The aim is to fulfill the infrastructural and basic needs and equip these centers with world-class facilities.
In this regard, the districts where the process of revamping one community health center is ongoing include Shravasti, Ballia, Balrampur, Unnao, Kaushambi, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Lucknow, Badaun, and Sultanpur. Additionally, the upgradation of two community health centers in Hapur district will also be initiated.
Upgradation will enhance the capacity of primary health centers
The process of upgradation is being initiated for 13 community health centers in 12 districts across the state of Uttar Pradesh. Among these, Bahadurgarh and Gohara Alamgir in Hapur district are prominent. Additionally, Laxmanpur Bazaar in Shravasti, Sahatwar in Ballia, Unchgaon in Unnao, Karari in Kaushambi, Sisauli in Muzaffarnagar, Raipura in Chitrakoot, Shri Nagar in Mahoba, Behta in Lucknow, Islamnagar in Badaun, and Dihadughdupur in Sultanpur are included in the list of community health centers undergoing the upgradation process.
This allocation of funds will expedite the development of all these 13 community health centers after receiving financial approval from the government. It will also streamline the procurement process for all the medical equipment. The quality of all the equipment purchased in the process, determination, and compliance of the purchasing process will be done under the supervision of the purchasing officer.
Notably, the entire process will be carried out in accordance with the rules and conditions of the State Government to ensure that the allocated funds are used only for the designated purposes.
Several health and medical institutions in the state are undergoing upgradation
As part of this initiative, a sum of Rs 4 lakh has been allocated for the purchase and installation of 2 Baby Transportation Incubators, Rs 60,000 for the purchase and installation of 3 Autoclave machines, and Rs 9.40 lakh for the purchase and installation of 6 warmer machines for MNCU in Lucknow-based Veerangana Avantibai Women’s Hospital.
Similarly, in Barabanki, funds of Rs 8 crore have been approved for the installation of an X-ray machine printer in the Sirauli Ghauspur Hospital, and for ongoing construction work at the Para Medical Institute in Kannauj.
Furthermore, in Ghaziabad’s Loni Nagar Palika Parishad, an initial installment of Rs 3.08 crore has been released for the construction of a hospital with a capacity of 50 beds.
