Your arrogance for 4 days: Poster outside Sanjay Raut’s house; Sena corporator behind it

Taking a sharp jibe at Sanjay Raut over his ‘commanding role’ in the party, the banner read, ‘Your arrogance would last 4 days, our kingship is inherited.’

New Delhi: The political drama in Maharashtra is escalating each moment with Shiv Sena failing to keep its flock together. And, the fracas within the party is now coming to the fore.

In a dramatic event, a banner ‘with a warning’ was pasted outside the residence of Sanjay Raut, a tall Sena leader & key aide of CM Uddhav Thackeray. The poster has images of top Sena leaders including Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Balasaheb Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut and other prominent faces.

Taking a sharp jibe at Sanjay Raut over his ‘commanding role’ in the party, the banner read, ‘Your arrogance would last 4 days, our kingship is inherited.’

And, it was not put up by any political rival but form one among its own. The banner was put up apparently at the behest of Shiv Sena corporator Deepmala Badhe, whose picture clearly appears at the bottom.

Sena downplays rebellion

Till yesterday, the Shiv Sena played down the rebellion led by its veteran Eknath Shinde and refused to acknowledge any fissures within.

“Shiv Sena has the capacity to rise from the ashes. Shinde is an old Shiv sainik. We can’t leave Shinde and he can’t leave us,” Sanjay Raut said yesterday.

An editorial in Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ has blamed BJP for trying to drive a wedge in the grand alliance. It also said that BJP won’t succeed in ‘Operation Kamal’.

Eknath Shinde

At least 40 MLAs including more than 30 MLAs are said to be camping in Assam, with rebel Eknath Shinde.

Shinde’s rebellion has plunged the Sena-led MVA government into a crisis. The crisis happened after declaration of MLC results, in which the party suffered a setback. Sena MLAs went incommunicado and then got huddled to Guwahati.

Though Shinde has refrained from speaking on ‘split’, he said, “We have been following Balasaheb’s Hindutva and will carry it further.”
