53-year-old biologist became a ‘decade younger’ by following these 4 daily habits: Here are his 4 secrets

Just like most ordinary people, Sinclair spent his 30s drinking, eating unhealthy food, and living a sedentary lifestyle. Naturally, he put on many extra pounds and looked much older than his age.

New Delhi: Turning back the hands of the clock to achieve the eternal fountain of youth sounds no more realistic than a fairytale.

But this 53-year-old Harvard Biologist, who had dedicated most of his life to researching anti-aging, has successfully reversed his age by 10 years.

David Sinclair’s ID card might say he is 53 years old, but the components of his DNA revealed that his biological age is much closer to 40.

His secret to defy aging is not mystic elixir but these 4 daily habits.

Just like most ordinary people, Sinclair spent his 30s drinking, eating unhealthy food, and living a sedentary lifestyle. Naturally, he put on many extra pounds and looked much older than his age.

“But it’s never too old,” David told the media. He revealed that his biological age is reducing for the last 10 years. ” Predictions say I will live longer than I would have if I didn’t change my lifestyle.”

So what are the 4 daily habits that changed, or rather reversed the trajectory of this anti-ageing researcher’s life? Let’s spill his secrets

1. Green Tea and Red Wine

David’s number 1 rule is to watch what he puts on his plate. He revealed that he drinks 1-2 cups of green tea Machas every day.

There are many studies that back up Green Tea’s anti-inflammatory properties. He also takes Resveratrol supplements, a compound found in Red wine.

Red wine is known for its heart health and brain health benefits. Resveratrol is also found in grapes, soy and peanuts.

2. Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent Fasting has taken over the fitness community like a storm. As the name suggests, it simply means to increase the duration at which you take meals. Studies suggest that an increased period of fasting was linked with longevity as it slows down cellular aging.

3. Secure Quiet Time

David revealed he manages stress by setting out “quiet time’ for himself. There is enough evidence that shows nothing exacerbates health issues like mental stress.

He also added that he avoids jerks. Being around ‘not-so-nice’ people can also add to your mental woes.

Tension and stress can have immediate effects on skin, and heart health. It also shortens the life span by a great deal.

4. Get it moving

Do you know that sitting for more than 8 hours is just as harmful as smoking a few packs a day? Well, David Sinclair knows.

That’s why he uses a standing desk at work. He also tried to do a good aerobic workout at least 3 times a day.
