The question revolves around eight pizza slices, a shopkeeper and a customer.
The puzzle is divided into five stages that start with the puzzle, the condition, the question, the answer and how we cracked the riddle:
Situation:
While watching India vs Pakistan match, a cricket fan Jack decides to order his favourite pizza from a restaurant over the phone. He calls the chef and asks him to cut the pizza into eight slices. Before hanging up the call, he said that he would come and collect the pizza at 8 PM.
However, the chef accepted the offer by adding a condition as he knows that Jack always gets late to collect his pizza every time. The condition is that if Jack gets late, the chef will eat one slice of pizza from his box at every eight minutes, eating the first slice as soon as he knows the customer is late to collect it.
Question:
Jack arrives at the shop at 8:34 PM. Can you find how many slices of Pizza are left in the box?
Answer:
There are three slices of pizza left in the box when the customer arrives at the shop.
How we cracked the riddle
The chef eats the first slice of pizza at 8:01 PM since the customer is at this point late. He eats the second slice at 8:09 followed by a third at 8:17, a fourth at 8:25, and a fifth at 8:33. At 8:34, Jack arrives and gets three slices of pizza left in the box.
