Employee fired for getting late for first time in 7 years, co-workers decide to be late until he’s rehired

New Delhi: An employee got fired from the company for getting late for the first time in seven years. According to a Reddit post shared by a co-worker, the person was 20 minutes late for the first time in seven years and was fired for his mistake.

Luckily for the employee, his co-workers and standing by him and are protesting in their own way. His co-workers have decided to be late to work until the employer rehires him. They have caught the internet’s attention for their unique way of protesting.

The company and other details about the incident were not revealed by the co-workers. The Reddit users shared, “Co-worker who has never been late in 7+ years, gets fired for the first time being late.” The user added, “This happened last week and today Monday we just found out he was fired for being 20 minutes late FOR HIS FIRST TIME EVER… tomorrow me and ALL my coworkers will be late and will continue to come in late until they rehire him.”

After the post went viral, netizens started poring in with their thoughts in the comment section. A person shared the experience of getting late due to a snowstorm, for the first time in six years, and getting scolded by the employer. While another user shared an incident which was completely opposite to this one. The netizen stated that he was 4 hours late to work due to a traffic jam which was so huge that it became national news. His employer however said, ‘don’t worry about it.’
