This year, Father’s Day falls on June 18. While you are free to choose mode of celebration with your father, here we bring you some Bollywood movies, based on father-child relationship, which you binge-watch to mark the day.

1) Dangal

One of the most-touching movies of recent times, Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal was a runaway hit and its USP was father’s driving force behind daughters becoming world champions.

The movie, made on real-life story of woman wrestling champions Geeta Phogat & Babita Phogat and their father Mahavir Phogat, who fought against all social odds and trained his daughters to become world champions.

The movie documenting their story from village to world championship went to become highest-grossing film worldwide.

2) Drishyam

Drishyam is another blockbuster hit of the recent past. First made in Malayalam and then recreated in Hindi, the movie received thunderous applause from public. The hindi adaptation of movie was directed by Nishikant Kamat and starred Ajay Devgn in lead role. The movie is about father’s determination & resolve to save his daughters from adversity at any cost.

3) Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

Gunjan Saxena, the acclaimed air force pilot was brought to screens by actress Janhvi Kapoor. The movie is a biopic and depicts the life of Gunjan Saxena who dreamt & went to become one of the first woman pilots to fly in the combat zone. The film beautifully captures the father-daughter bond, where the former encourages her to chase her dreams without paying heed to critics.

4) Angrezi Medium

With Irrfan Khan in the lead role, the Angrezi Medium is one of his most notable works. It shows father’s endeavour & struggles to fulfill daughter’s dream of going abroad for further studies.

5) Piku

Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, the film is about father and daughter taking a road trip to Kolkata despite their differences.
