New Delhi: International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking is a United States day also known as World Drug Day. It is annually celebrated since 26 June 1989. This day was created to address serious issues related to drug abuse and seek international support.

The event focuses on the physical and psychological impact of substances and overdose deaths and it aims to eliminate this danger from the society.

History of this day 

On December 7, 1987, the Us assembly decided to observe June 26 as International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking. This was created to strengthen society by making it drug-free.
