Theme for 2022 International Day of Persons with Disabilities
The theme for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is declared every year over a month before the occasion. It is shared by the UN on its website. The theme for the year 2022 is ”Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world”.
History of International Day of Persons with Disabilities
In the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA) 37th plenary meeting, the resolution to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was adopted on October 4, 1992. Before the resolution was passed, the UNGA declared 1983-1992 as the decade of Disabled persons.
