New Delhi: Going on a safari can be very refreshing and exciting but it doesn’t take long to become lif-threatening at times. Something just like this happened with a group of tourists who were taking a safari in BR Hills range forest in Karnataka. A video shared by IFS officer Susanta Nanda shows such a situation.

The video starts with an angry elephant running behind the jeep filled with tourists before he gives up mid-chase. But the danger isn’t over yet as they encounter another elephant ahead in their journey. As the camera turns towards the front side one can see another elephant running ahead. But, the driver does not looses his calm and keeps going behind the running elephant. After some time the elephant stops and turns towards the car which makes the tourist shout.
Narrow Escape
To their luck the elephant turned and went on his way letting the vehicle and people go out safely. In the end of the video, four-five elephants are seen grazing in the bushes nearby.
Nature conservationists have often demanded forest departments ensure wildlife protection over tourism and thus restrict tourist movement to bare minimum in the very interiors of the forest for both conservation and safety purposes.
Driver’s side
Nagaraj, the guy who was driving the jeep in an interview said, “duty and safety of people comes first.”
