New Delhi: Have you ever witnessed a wife letting her husband marry a transwoman after learning that he was having an affair? According to the Times of India, this 32-year-old father of a two-year-old has been in a relationship with a transwoman in secret for a full year. Not only that, but she also permitted them to share a house. These actions, however, are not subject to any legal penalties.

The ceremony for the marriage was also held in Narla at a temple, where it was attended by members of the local transgender community. The unique twist is that Kamini, the president of Sebakari Kinnar Mahasangha, took charge of planning the wedding. For the trans community, this was an extraordinary occurrence because a married guy who had a child and a wife opted to wed a trans woman.

Although a second marriage is valid only after the first one has been officially dissolved, Kamini asserts that he is fully aware of Hindu procedures. He wished the pair the very best in their future.
All members of the transgender community repeatedly questioned them about whether they had major doubts. We also went to the police station to keep them informed in writing, but they said they had little involvement in the situation, the president said. “It was the wish of both partners and the consent of the wife that led to this ” he said.

According to the Inspector in charge of the Narla police station, the police will have to take action against the man if a third party files a complaint about the marriage.

A lawyer for the Odisha high court claims that the second marriage cannot be regarded as legal until the previous one is dissolved. She said that although the connection qualified as a live-in or extramarital relationship, it was not a marriage.

The newlyweds are content with their existing circumstances. They claimed that the three of them had been living together peacefully for a while and would like to keep doing so.
