Situation:
In the puzzle, there are three persons who want to cross a river with their pets via different modes of river transport.
There are three friends — Amit, Bhan, and Devendra. One day, they decided to bring three different pets to raise them at home. Each buys a pet from a shop, located on another side of a river. One has an owl, one has a cat and one has a dog.
They come to the river on the way home with their respective pets and find there are three ways for them to cross it that include a canoe, a kayak, and a raft. However, each friend wants to take a different boat to return home with their pets.
Conditions:
However, there are three conditions that must be followed. The conditions are as follows:
1. Only the canoe is big enough to carry a dog and its owner.
2. Bhan takes the kayak but he is not travelling with an owl.
3. Amit is not the one who takes the raft.

How we cracked the riddle
As the conditions suggest that Amit didn’t take the raft and he is also not in the Kayak, so he must be sailing in the canoe. Devendra is in the raft and Bhan, as stated above is taking the Kayak.
Since, canoe must hold the dog and the kayak doesn’t have the owl, so it must be taking along the cat. This leaves the owl with only one option – the raft.
