Some of the sexist remarks that women often hear in daily life

It is high time that women raise their voices and start questioning these incidents instead of ignoring these statements.

New Delhi: Men and women both had to face sexist comments on a daily basis. Despite taking on so many responsibilities one harsh reality is that we don’t accept them as a part of society, instead we keep mocking them for their choices and decisions.

Sometimes knowingly or unknowingly smallest sexist statements create gender inequality which is normalized by us.

Taunts often faced by women

If a girl wants to study more we often taunt her by saying ” Ladki haath se nikal jaayegi”, which means the girl is out of control

It is good to have an opinion but mostly when it comes to females, comments are usually ‘demeaning or loaded with patriarchy’.

Now it’s high time that women raise their voices and start questioning these incidents instead of ignoring these statements.

Here are a few remarks which are normalized by us:

1)Usually it is seen men have the tendency to call their female friends or sometimes even colleagues out of affection.

And trust me this is not affection, it minimizes the status and should not be used.

2) Unsolicited comments on the female body: Telling a woman whether she should lose or gain weight is another example, they don’t need any expert comments

3)Men don’t cry: At a certain point in life, everyone has their breaking point.

It doesn’t mean if a girl is crying she is weak or sensitive.

4)”Must be a lady driver”: Perhaps most of the offensive statements, imply indirectly that women are not as efficient drivers as men.
