‘We Still Have A Lot To do’: Ysquar3 opens up on the rise of ‘Techno Genre’ in India

Ysquar3 started his musical journey with a piano and played his first gig at the age of 13.

New Delhi: In the last couple of years, the music industry in India has gone through a major change and we are grateful for it. Long gone are the days when only a handful of music artists had the power to change the music world. At present, there are many talented folks who are changing the world, one beat at a time. One such man in the industry is music artist Ysquar3 who has changed the way techno music is perceived in India.

Ysquar3 started his musical journey with a piano and played his first gig at the age of 13. From there he made his way to topping charts in countries like the Netherlands, Ukraine and Egypt with a discography of 35+ music pieces.

Speaking about his journey, Ysquar3 said, “I’ve learnt that hard work and patience are your keys to success. In India, the techno scene is rising and I have been lucky enough to work with some incredibly brilliant folks who live for music. Sure, I believe we have a long way to go but we are indeed getting there. In the last few months, I have been working on a lot of new music and the love I have gotten from the industry is incredible I am eternally grateful for every bit of it. I just want to push myself more and more in the trade.”

Ysquar3’s DJ sets are as compelling as they are diverse, constantly keeping energy levels and tensions high while shifting between cinematic techno, big emotions and deeper, introspective moods.

He is the founder of SANCTUM, an electronic music label devoted to the the intricate spectrum of Melodic Techno.
